26-F005 - Fire Training Officer

We are currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Fire Training Officer (from approximately July 11, 2026 to 

July 10, 2028). 

Reporting to the Assistant Fire Chief on training and professional development under the Operations Department, in this position you will be accountable for the direction, supervision, and administration of staff and ensure training complies with Department safety regulations. The Fire Training Officer identifies training needs and requirements, develops, and delivers training procedures, programs and course materials and oversees the operational activities of all training-related programs including recruit training, operations training, special operations training, firefighter health, and safety and first responder certifications. This position exercises independence of judgement and ensures the provision of consistent and timely training in accordance with established standards.
