Active Travel Officer

About the Role:

This is a dynamic, community-facing role where you will design and deliver targeted programmes and initiatives that promote safer, more sustainable travel. Working closely with schools, local communities, businesses and partner organisations, you will play a key role in shaping healthier travel habits and supporting the Council’s road safety and climate ambitions.

You’ll lead on initiatives such as Modeshift STARS accreditation, local campaigns (e.g. Clean Air Day, Bike Month), and community engagement events. You’ll also carry out surveys, analyse data, and work with stakeholders to tackle barriers to active travel and improve local transport outcomes.

From delivering training and awareness sessions to setting up community steering groups and supporting School Streets initiatives, no two days will be the same.
