Addiction and Mental Health Therapist

Summary of responsibilities

The Addiction and Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive urgent/emergent mental health services to clients, including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention and urgent follow-up, as well as consultation and education to other staff, professionals and community agencies. This is specialized mental health practice. Employees provide rapid, accurate and effective assessment, interventions, recommendations regarding disposition, referral to community resources, and supportive consultation to community agencies, police departments and families. Work is performed with considerable independent judgement within approved policies and procedures as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.
