Adjunct Professor of English

Position Summary:

The Adjunct Professor of English will work as needed in the Department of English within the College of Arts & Sciences. Classes will be in-person on main campus and include 1-3 sections a semester of the same course in Academic Writing (First-Year Composition) as part of the core curriculum. Courses in Academic Writing include the following:

English 100 – An intensive course of practice in writing fundamentals as preparation for academic writing.

English 101 – This course prepares students for academic writing. Students will practice writing papers requiring summary, synthesis, argument, research and documentation in MLA style.The course is designed to improve the clarity, concision, structure, and logic of student writing.

English 102 – This course develops students’ critical reading, writing, and research skills by examining a variety of literary works and genres.
