Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary

Prepares, operates, cleans, cares for, and restocks anesthesia supplies and equipment; assists in line placements and patient care as required by nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists.
Job Duties


+ Assists in setups for all emergent and non-emergent procedures, including open hearts and traumas.

+ Obtains and prepares all equipment needed for transport of critically ill patients and assists in their transport.

+ Assists in lifting and positioning of patients.

+ Assists anesthetist during the induction of anesthesia as required.

+ Orders and picks up local drugs and inhalational agents from Pharmacy.

+ Stocks block carts with needed drugs.

+ Requires knowledge of generic and current trade names of all pharmaceuticals used by the department.

+ Prepares monthly special order supply list as assigned.

+ Stocks and cleans all assigned areas daily.
