RESPONSIBILITIES
* Delineates medical history on patients.
* Performs comprehensive physical assessment on patient as expected for presenting symptoms as well as medical specialty.
* Utilizes information from multiple sources for assessment including referring physician information, medical records, and other health care associates.
* Diagnoses, treats, and plans appropriate health care for clients in the area of the emergency department as appropriate for specialists; refer clients to physicians and/or outside agencies as required.
* Provides and prescribes medications within area of specialty.
* Collaborates with medical staff to determine plan of care for patient.
* Orders diagnostic tests, medications and treatment in accordance with the plan of care for the patient.
