Overview

Position: Assistant Head Nurse. Department: Department of Surgery. Entity: Aga Khan University. Location: Karachi, Pakistan.

Responsibilities

• assist the head nurse in day-to-day management of the inpatient area
• teach and mentor new staff, and ensure that quality care is delivered to patients
• ensure to maintain staff and patient satisfaction level
• meet consultants frequently to discuss patient care related issues and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality of patient care
• assess patient care and acuity trends, plan and manage unit and staffing, and ensure availability of supplies, equipment and other resources
• take responsibility of some of department management tasks as per supervisor’s instruction including to develop staff duty roster, check special assignments etc.
