Binghamton University is one of four University Centers in the State University of New York System and an R1 research institute. Binghamton University was recently named a Top 10 Public Ivy by Forbes. The School of Computing (formerly Computer Science Department) has well established Ph.D. and M.S. programs, an accredited B.S. program in Computer Science, and an M.S. program in Information Systems. The School of Computing is ranked between 201 - 250 in the world by the recent THE (Times Higher Education) world ranking.
