Summary This position is located at the James E Van Zandt VA Medical Center, in the vehicle maintenance section (Garage) and is under the direct supervision of the Boiler Plant and Garage Supervisor. The incumbent is responsible for transportation, landscaping, snow removal and installs, maintains, repairs and performs preventive maintenance on a wide variety of new and existing equipment that is used. Responsibilities Major duties include, but may not be limited to: Performs maintenance, repairs, and overhaul on station owned and DAV vehicles to include, but not limited to buses, card, trucks, and mobile equipment the have utility systems or special features or controls designed for a specific purpose and combustion-powered automotive vehicles. Tear down, adjust, repair, reassemble, and operational checks on components of equipment. Identify and locate defective and worn equipment parts, components and accessories.
