Auxiliary Operator - Mooreland Power Plant

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Auxiliary Operator, assigned to a rotating shift schedule, is responsible for assisting in all phases of plant operation. Incumbent monitors and operates all auxiliary equipment. When necessary, the incumbent may perform plant lab or maintenance activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following; other duties may be assigned. Responsible for monitoring and recording hourly readings for all auxiliary equipment, and if necessary, takes corrective action to ensure safe and reliable operation. Operates auxiliary equipment during startup, normal conditions, and shutdowns under the direction of the Shift Supervisor in a safe and reliable manner. Operates demineralizers, water filters and chlorinators, adds chemicals to boiler as directed and monitors cooling water system.
