Bank Chaplain – County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

Overview: We are seeking to appoint Bank Health Care Chaplains to work ecumenically within the Trust, primarily to assist in providing 24/7 emergency and out‑of‑hours call‑out provision.
Main duties
- Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, comfortable working alongside colleagues of different denominations, faith groups and none.
- Offer pastoral, spiritual and religious care to patients, carers and staff on wards and across the Trust as appropriate.
- Administer sacraments according to Anglican or Free Church rites.
- Apply in‑depth understanding of the bereavement process to support the wide‑ranging spiritual and religious needs of patients, carers and staff facing life‑changing events.
- Respond pastorally to the complex situations in a maternity unit.
