Biological Safety Officer

We’re seeking an experienced Safety and Compliance Manager to lead on all aspects of health, safety, and regulatory compliance within a scientific research environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the organisation operates to the highest standards of safety, supporting scientific teams and leadership through proactive risk management and expert guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory frameworks, including requirements from the Health and Safety Executive, Human Tissue Authority, and Home Office.
• Act as the organisation’s appointed Biological Safety Officer, providing expert advice on biological safety, GMO risk assessments, and containment practices.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust health and safety management systems, including policies, SOPs, and risk assessments.
