Biomedical Electronics Technician III

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works with minimal supervision to independently perform a variety of high-level work activities including coordinating all phases of equipment maintenance and new equipment installations of medical equipment involved in the treatment, care, diagnosis and monitoring of patients. Utilizes a background with a strong emphasis on medical and non-medical software applications. Takes a lead role in the inspection, installation and ongoing service of assigned medical systems. Supports complex hardware and software medical systems including diagnostic radiology devices, cardiac systems and other complex patient monitoring systems. Implements and supports medical device integration with clinical information systems. Works closely with clinical departments to conduct per-purchase evaluations of equipment; advises on appropriate purchases and leads or co-leads the implementation process. Serves a project coordinator for special biomedical projects as assigned.
