Summary:
Monitors and controls blood collection on the surgical field and oversees blood recovery procedures in accordance with established methods, procedures and standards of practice.
Responsibilities:
+ Sets up and operates autologous blood salvaging systems for elective and emergency procedures.
+ Provides support during open heart procedures and intra-aortic balloon pump procedures.
+ Ensures accuracy of clinical documentation and provides support with intra-aortic balloon pump.
