Summary This position is a Supervisory Aviation Safety Specialist (Branch Chief, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS)), GW-1825-14 assigned to the Headquarters (HQ) Aviation: UAS organization for the US Wildland Fire Service. Responsibilities As a Branch Chief, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Leads the UAS Flight Standards program for the USWFS, translating FAA, NWCG, and DOI aviation policies into field-ready operational standards and guidance, and ensuring compliance across bureaus. Plans and coordinates UAS operations for wildland fire and all-risk incidents nationwide, facilitating resource mobilization, airspace coordination, data stewardship, and operational advisement to IMTs and aviation managers.
