JOB DETAILS
An Assistant Cook, or Assistant Chef ensures the kitchen is orderly and assists Cooks to prepare and arrange food.
Their duties include cleaning the kitchen area, washing dishes and utensils and ensuring that the Cook has everything required to run the kitchen efficiently.
A cook assistant provides support to head chefs.
This role works under the direct supervision of an executive chef or a sous chef.
Cook assistants perform a variety of cooking duties, including preparing food, testing new recipes, cleaning the kitchen, plating dishes, and maintaining supplies.
