Budget Technician

Summary This position serves as Budget Technician for the Research and Development Service within the VA St Louis Health Care System. This department reports approximately 5 million dollars annually in research expenditures. This position works with many employees within the Research and Development Service to ensure that all research funding is handled appropriately and in accordance with all Veterans Administration and Federal regulations. Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assists in accounting, forecasting, and executing the Research budget. Works with researchers to ensure funds are managed in a fiscally responsible manner - reviewing annual budget forecasts and spend plans; recommending adjustments based on historical spending plans and ensuring budgets are current and in compliance with existing regulatory guidance.
