Cardiothoracic Intensivist

**Job Summary and Responsibilities**

The Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an Intensivist for the Cardiothoracic ICU (CICU). This critical care position provides advanced medical care for the hospitalized patients in the CICU. Successful candidates will be expected to provide exceptional patient care in a multidisciplinary setting in the CICU, demonstrate teamwork with midlevel providers and increase academic productivity. This ICU will have a mix of cardiovascular surgical, thoracic/esophageal surgical and cardiac patients.

Experience and or interest in managing patients with advanced circulatory support devices (VA and VV ECMO, Impellas, Protech Duos, balloon pumps etc.) is essential. Advanced training in ECMO cannulation and participation in a “Cardiovascular Shock Team” will be part of the skill set which will be incorporated in this practice.
