Chairperson of the Board Role

Champion student advocacy as the Chairperson of the Board at Toronto Metropolitan Students' Union. This part-time role requires 2 to 10 hours per week, fostering effective governance.
TMSU is looking for an experienced Chairperson to lead the Board of Directors. Your leadership will guide the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities while promoting a culture of engagement. Experience in board governance and a commitment to diversity are essential for this impactful role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly and special Board meetings
• Create and manage meeting agendas
• Promote conflict resolution with best practices
• Engage Board members in decision-making
• Foster relationships with TMSU members
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years in a non-profit or student union
• 3 to 5 years as a Chairperson or facilitator
• Knowledge of board governance and advocacy
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
