Civil Engineer

Summary This position is located in Region 8. The ideal candidate will support the National Flood Insurance Program and Mitigation Division by reducing long-term risks from hazards. The incumbent manages mapping studies to determine flood and hazard risks, ensures technical credibility, and provides engineering advice to stakeholders. As project manager, the incumbent communicates and integrates mitigation goals and strategies into project plans, objectives, and services delivered. Responsibilities What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Civil Engineer. Typical assignments include: Performing and/or developing engineering review of Hazard Mitigation (HMA) and Public Assistance (PA) grant projects to determine the technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness utilizing approved benefit cost analysis (BCA) software or methodology.
