Clinical Midwife Manager - Womens Assessment Unit

About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Charge Midwife to work in our Women’s Assessment Unit (WAU) and Day Assessment Unit team.

WAU is a 15‑bed unit providing acute gynaecology and maternity care 24/7, similar to a Women’s Health emergency department.

Services include maternity assessments (ante‑partum & postpartum up to six weeks), induction of labour, treatment of acute gynaecological conditions, an ECV clinic and a perinatal loss service for women 20 weeks and over who experience fetal death in utero or require a termination of pregnancy for medical indications or fetal abnormality.

The team includes Midwives, Gynaecology Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Ward Clerks, working closely with obstetricians and LMCs. Approximately 35 women are seen each day, or 1,300 per month.
