Clinical Specialist Sonographer

Team Overview

The ultrasound service is run by a friendly team of 19 sonographers who rotate through General and Obstetrics departments, supported by 12 cross‑site Ultrasound Radiology Assistants. It operates across three accessible sites: Eastbourne District General Hospital, Conquest Hospital and a brand‑new state‑of‑the‑art Community Diagnostic Centre in Bexhill.

Responsibilities

Perform a comprehensive range of examinations, including general abdominal, obstetrics (including nuchal translucency scanning), gynaecology, vascular (carotids and DVT scanning) and small parts.

Work independently and issue your own reports.

Participate in weekend and evening rota, with flexibility to compress hours and accommodate a 3‑ or 4‑day working week.

CPD is actively encouraged and opportunities are available for external courses and extension of administrative duties such as QA, clinical audits, education officer, H&S and managerial roles. ...
