Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Care


+ Prepare patient for examination by recording vitals, medical history, and chief complaint.

+ Administer injections, medications, vaccines, and IVs as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure.

+ Perform laboratory tests (including point-of-care phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests) as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure.

+ Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and address patient questions and concerns in a timely manner according to clinic policy.


Clinical Support


+ Assist providers with examinations and procedures.

+ Prepare examination and procedure rooms with necessary sanitation procedures and supplies.

+ Use clinical judgment to assess patients’ health status in person or via phone, and recommend clinic and/or ER visit as appropriate.
