Job Title CNC Lathe Operator II – 3rd Shift Overview A successful CNC Lathe Operator II can safely and efficiently manufacture parts that meet all quality requirements. This hourly, non‐exempt position reports to the Production Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work to close tolerances (ie. .0002) Machine metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Inspect parts during production using precision measuring instruments Monitor and maintain machine fluid levels Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of parts to determine machining, dimensional specifications, setup, and operating requirements Edit pre‐written programs with supervision when necessary Edit programs for process improvements and troubleshooting Mount work pieces in chuck, faceplate, or fixtures Select and install preset tooling in tool posts, turrets, cutters, and automatic tool change magazine in the sequence specified on the process sheet Observe numerical control displays on the control pan...
