Coding Education Specialist

Summary

The Coding Education Specialist is responsible for the development, delivery, and maintenance of high-quality educational audits, education materials, meetings and presentations focused on coding accuracy and documentation improvement for professional services. The Specialist is responsible for analyzing complex guidelines from regulatory bodies CMS, AMA, FCSO, OIG, etc.) and communicating findings in an understandable manner to Providers and LPG leadership via in-person or virtual presentation, on-demand videos, tip sheets, coding alerts, and newsletters. Curriculum is to be aligned with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M guidelines. This role supports Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), coders, and LPG practice leadership (practice managers and directors, system directors, medical directors) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and to optimize revenue integrity.
