CONGRESSIONAL AFFAIRS SPECIALIST

Summary About the Position: Serves as legislative liaison, strategist, and analyst. As an experienced legislative professional, assists in the development and execution of a congressional engagement plan that effectively supports USSOUTHCOM's priorities and goals; advances understanding of USSOUTHCOM's programs, funding, and authorities; and maintains appropriate contact with key members and staff. Responsibilities Serve as legislative liaison, strategist, and analyst. Serve as a staff officer responsible for researching, identifying, recommending, and conducting outreach to other organizations, both within and outside of the Executive Branch, to advance the Command's strategic goals.
