In the context of climate change and increasing anthropogenic
pressures from expanding industrial and agricultural activities, aquatic ecosystems are becoming
increasingly fragile and are being durably impacted. As a result, complex mixtures of
contaminants are now present in the environment and accumulate in aquatic species consumed
by humans. Monitoring programs have been established to protect public health, but they are
generally not designed for multi-contaminant assessment, focusing primarily on regulated and
predefined compounds, and rarely addressing emerging toxins
The core challenge of this PhD is therefore to develop a global approach able to detect a broad
spectrum of contaminants, whether known, emerging, or unregulated. High-resolution mass
spectrometry coupled with gas and liquid chromatography (LC/GC-HRMS) appears as a
