Cost Accountant

A Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and controlling a companys costs to improve profitability and efficiency. They collect and interpret cost data, prepare reports, and support management in budgeting and decision-making processes. Key Responsibilities: Analyze production costs, materials, labor, and overhead expenses. Prepare cost reports and present findings to management. Develop and maintain standard costing systems. Monitor inventory valuation and conduct cost audits. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements. Reconcile cost accounts with the general ledger. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Support pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
