**Job Summary**

Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned rooms, common areas, buildings and related University facilities.

**Responsibilities***

**Characteristic and Related Duties**

+ Record and communicate level of attendance to supervisor
+ Communicate need for additional staffing
+ Check inventory of other employees and requisition needed supplies
+ Communicate written or verbal instructions from supervision to other employees
+ Coordinate the work of assigned assistants
+ Operate and maintain mechanical cleaning equipment
+ Operate and maintain carpet shampooing and upholstery cleaning equipment
+ Strip and wax floor surfaces
+ Maintain entrances by performing such duties as hand shoveling snow, ice removal
