Opportunity Description

Cytotechnologist

Serve as a cytotechnologist with responsibility for performing a wide range of cytological and consultative services in support of Madigan Army Medical Center and associated regional health care facilities.

Determine the suitability of cases for accessioning and renders a diagnostic judgment.

Based on complex cytological tests and procedures, render a microscopic diagnosis of cases independent of a physician's interpretation.

Ensure accurate records are kept of quality control cases, and that discrepancies are resolved; prepares amended reports as necessary.

Performs fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy technique to obtain specimens.

Instruct providers on proper specimen collection and submission.
