Data Governance Lead

Job Summary Under the direction of the Manager, Data, Access and Privacy, this position is the subject matter expert responsible for administering the Data Governance Program. This position applies established frameworks, policies, and standards, leads day‑to‑day governance activities, and provides expert guidance to departments to improve the quality and protection of the City’s data and information assets.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the ongoing stewardship of the organization‑wide data governance framework, with a focus on data quality improvement and the protection of sensitive data.

Lead corporate data governance initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, legislative obligations, and responsible data and AI use principles.

Implement and maintain data governance and data quality policies, standards, and practices, data protection and information classification standards, and support adoption requirements across the City.
