Doctoral Researcher, Multimodal Cancer Imaging

Overview

The University of Eastern Finland invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher position at the A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences, Kuopio Campus. The role focuses on multimodal cancer imaging and will be filled for a fixed term of 3 years from 1 September 2026 onwards.

Role and Salary

Project: “Cancer immunotherapy utilizing multifunctional vector technology, PET imaging and metabolic MRI”. Funded by the Research Council of Finland. The candidate works in the multimodal imaging arm, developing methods to be applied to cancer therapy models in collaboration with an immunotherapy partner on the same campus.

The salary is set by the Finnish university system: base salary EUR 2,331.67/month (level 2), with a personal salary element between 6 % and 50 % of the base, resulting in approximately EUR 2,700–2,845/month at the start of employment.
