Summary The purpose of the position is to perform the overhaul, installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of highly complex systems of centralized electronic sensing andcontrol at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, in Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities Performs the overhaul, installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of highly complex systems of electronic sensing and control, including centralized environmental monitoring and control systems (EMCS) that use special purpose, dedicated computers to store operating parameters and initiate adjustments. Plans and lays out work from mechanical, electrical and electronic block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders. Interprets engineering drawings that combine mechanical, electrical and electronic schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings; and traces signal flow throughout the system while troubleshooting malfunctions of complex systems.
