ER Physician

Summary This position will serve as A Emergency Room Physician at the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System. The Fort Wayne campus has a 26-bed medical center providing acute medical and surgical services. The facility also offers mental health clinics, primary care, medical and surgical specialty care. Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities (100%) Perform assessments and/or examinations on encounters with all present patients Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests necessary to complete the ED evaluation Provide Attending Physician oversight to residents, mid-level providers as applicable Stabilize all critically ill or injured patients Determine whether admission to the hospital is necessary or if patient may be safely discharged from the ED with appropriate follow-up Discuss treatment plan with patient and/or family/caregiver (following COBRA guidelines) Perform medication reconciliation with all patients Participate in Quality Assurance, chart reviews, and support appl...
