About the role

Torbay Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Care Proceedings Team. In this pivotal position you will safeguard children and ensure their welfare is prioritised through care proceedings, working closely with legal teams, courts, and multi‑agency partners to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people in Torbay.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex care‑proceeding cases and undertake statutory interventions using relevant legal frameworks.
• Prepare high‑quality court reports, statements, and care plans; attend and represent the local authority at court hearings and legal planning meetings.
• Conduct assessments, interventions, and risk management in line with statutory responsibilities.
