Opportunity Description

As a Truck Driver at Steel Technologies, you’ll operate a heavy-capacity commercial truck to transport freight between Steel Technologies’ locations, from suppliers and to customers. Our customers depend on timely and quality deliveries and exceptional customer service.

How you’ll contribute to our company:

  • Operates a truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver steel products

  • Performs required daily vehicle inspections and monthly checklist to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order

  • Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles

  • Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned

  • Secures cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers
