Extractor/Wash Technician

1st shift- start time will vary 6-8am- 10hours shift

In a sterile work environment, process prepared material transferred from previous (1st Wash) station: Remove unwanted material from container.

BASIC SUMMARY:

Responsible for extracting blood from the Horseshoe Crab.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect and verify crabs for injuries and unresponsiveness prior to blood extraction.

• Extract blood from racked crabs using a 12 gauge needle

• Collect blood into bottles and deliver to the laboratory.

• Daily housekeeping responsibilities including but not limited to: cleaning walls, floor and tables within the tent area.

• Responsible for proficiency in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in areas of responsibility.

• Responsible for documentation as required by company policy, cGMP and FDA.

• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
