Eye Care Assistant

Job Description

• Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and assist the ophthalmologist or optometrist with various procedures, such as visual acuity testing, lensometry, and administering eye drops. Take patient histories and document relevant information in electronic health records.
• Optical Dispensing and Sales: Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear, including frames and lenses, based on their prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Measure pupillary distance and other necessary measurements for accurate lens fitting. Explain lens options, coatings, and pricing to patients. Process sales transactions and handle insurance paperwork.
