Opportunity Description

The School of Environment and Geomatics is seeking an instructor to teach in the Recreation, Fish and Wildlife program. Under the supervision of the School Chair, the successful applicant will have the education and experience to provide instruction in the Ecosystem Based Management course.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person courses in the classroom and field on: forest health, focusing on identifying forest pathogens and insects
    disturbance ecology, with an emphasis on fire and climate change
    management of regionally significant invasive species
    ecology, management and classification of riparian, wetland and alpine/subalpine ecosystems using standard BC systems
    ecological function of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and identification of zooplankton, native and invasive macrophytes, and riparian flora
