Position Overview

The Field Security Coordination Officer (FSCO) reports to the Chief Security Adviser (CSA) of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). The post is located in Islamabad, Pakistan, and has been designated as a B hardship duty station by the International Civil Service Commission.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantive inputs in forecasting the evolving security environment and the UN's security and operational responses.
• Support the development of risk‑management strategies and drive planning using situational awareness, critical thinking and analysis of multi‑dimensional threats.
• Prepare, review, implement and support security planning, risk‑management documents and security solutions through innovation and creativity.
• Provide written analysis of security trends, report incidents and participate in meetings, committees, and task forces.
