Position Qualifications

An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant for the position. An example of acceptable qualifications: High School diploma or GED; Firefighter II (240 CARD) and Paramedic Certification, and currently in the OP &F OR OPERS pension system. Demonstrate the ability to handle the physical requirements of the job, and availability to work shift assignments.

Firefighter must participate in and satisfactorily complete training programs required by the Fire Chief. Programs shall include, but not be limited to river rescue, hazardous materials response, fire control systems and emergency victim care.
