Geotechnical Core Logging Engineer (1-year contract)

The Geotechnical Core Logging Engineer is an onshore laboratory role responsible for geotechnical core logging support, XCT and MSCL operation, scan planning, data acquisition, scan processing, data management and initial QA/QC of digital and physical core/sample records.

• Support onshore laboratory projects by preparing and handling soil and rock samples, operating XCT and MSCL equipment, processing scan outputs, recording observations, assisting with core logging and laboratory data workflows.
• Assist with equipment readiness, routine maintenance, calibration/check records, consumables control, safe sample handling, radiation and equipment safety compliance and continuous improvement of digital core logging and laboratory workflows.
• Operate XCT and MSCL equipment safely and competently.
• Prepare soil and rock samples/cores for scanning and maintain chain-of-custody.
