Geriatric Medicine

The University Hospital is seeking a Geriatrician to provide Inpatient and Outpatient Geriatric Services at various sites. The successful applicant will become a member of the Dept of Internal Medicine, but will not be required to participate in the call rota.

Geriatric Inpatient and Outpatient services include but are not limited to:

• Assessment, treatment and follow‑up in outpatient clinic, or in the hospital
• Medication review and education
• Referrals from family physicians or attending specialists for elderly patients living in the community or in a long‑term care facility
• Referrals from physicians with hospitalized acute‑care elderly patients whose medical, functional or psychosocial problems are interfering with either their discharge or their ability to function in the community
• Complex competency assessments in collaboration with psychiatry
