Graduate Substation Protection & Controls Engineer

Job Duties

• Assist in the design process on a number of live projects, which includes creating electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, lighting system layout, protection and controls, and site and facility design. Ensuring that you follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards.
• Assist and input to various calculations required for substation design such as busbar short circuit calculations, cable sizing calculations, voltage drop calculations, DC battery sizing calculations, LVAC cable sizing calculation etc.
• Assisting in the design of protection philosophy documents such as key line diagrams and single line diagrams.
• Assist with set up of electrical CAD/BIM configuration and procedures according to project requirements at the beginning of a project for the electrical design team.
