Grounds Maintenance Person

Purpose:
The Grounds Maintenance Person is required to perform a wide variety of semiskilled labour in connection with the maintenance, operation, appearance, and improvement of the York University grounds. This role includes both hands-on grounds upkeep and operational equipment-based work to ensure safe, clean, and functional outdoor environments year-round.

Education:

-Valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's licence and a driving record acceptable to the University (Driver's Abstract required and must be maintained).
- Ability to be insured under the University's vehicle insurance Pesticide Technician Certificate (Ontario) is an asset. Training may be provided to support compliance where duties require application.

Experience:


- Demonstrated experience operating grounds maintenance equipment and power tools.
- Knowledge of plant materials, turf maintenance and seasonal grounds practices.
