Head of Government Affairs

The Head of Government Affairs is responsible for leading all regulatory and government engagement activities in Malaysia to enable fast, compliant and scalable execution of BYD Malaysia automotive business operations. This role ensures seamless interaction with all relevant governmental authorities, securing timely approvals, permits, certifications and incentives critical to business expansion.

This is a high-accountability role focused on execution speed, regulatory precision and zero-delay approval management in a fast-moving automotive industry environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end liaison with Malaysian government authorities including MITI, MIDA, JPJ, DOE (JAS), Royal Malaysian Customs, SIRIM, local councils and other regulatory bodies.
• Ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulatory frameworks governing automotive, manufacturing and environmental standards.
