Role Description

The Head of Social Studies Department is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for leading the Social Studies faculty and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the department. This role includes designing and overseeing the Social Studies curriculum, aligning it with school policies, external standards, and best practices in inquiry-based and skills-focused education. The Head of Department will mentor and support teachers through regular classroom observations, feedback, coaching, and collaborative planning meetings. They will analyze assessment data, monitor student progress, and implement strategies to raise achievement and engagement in Social Studies. The role also involves coordinating departmental resources, organizing enrichment activities, supporting whole-school initiatives, and maintaining regular communication with school leadership, colleagues, learners, and families.
