Health Technician (Optometry)

Summary The Health Technician (Optometry) position is primarily responsible for fitting/measuring eyewear to the patient's face, ordering eyeglasses and troubleshooting any issues that may arise throughout the process. Responsibilities The Health Technician (Optometry) position is located at the Hershel Woody Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Major Duties include, but not limited to: Obtain, document and record ophthalmic and medical information from patients in order to develop an accurate electronic progress note. Obtain basic eye ancillary tests and images. Assists with clerical support for the clinic including but not limited to phone calls to patients. Triages patient complaints and troubleshoots/addresses patient concerns/needs within scope. Determines characteristics of patient' present eyeglasses when requested.
