Healthcare Assistant (HCA) & Phlebotomist – 20‑25 hours per week

Supporting the practice in achieving the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and supplementary national services (SNS) as well as local initiatives towards patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in long‑term management reviews for conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
• Assist in Minor Surgery Clinics.
• Conduct BP checks, new patient registrations checks, primary prevention and asthma reviews, urinalysis, height, BMI, smoking and weight advice.
• Work under supervision of clinicians to provide patient care.
• Perform measurements of blood pressure, temperature, pulse, rhythm, height and weight.
• Refer patients to weight management services.
• Carry out peak flow measurements/FENO following additional training.
• Collect specimens, perform urinalysis and apply dressings as directed by the practice nurse.
