HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT, MEDICAL WARD (AZALEA)-1

General Description

Assists the qualified nurses in providing care to all patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. Provides nursing care that is part of the individualized holistic patient care plan, as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures and generally accepted principles of nursing services.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand and carry out nursing care in line with vision, mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the nursing services and hospital.
• Understand the service organization structure and inform the Nurse‑In‑Charge or Unit Manager of changes that affect standards of care.
• Receive ward reports and assignments before each shift change.
• Attend meetings of the services to discuss operation issues.
• Perform regular nursing rounds on all patients, ascertain additional needs, speak with patient/family members.
